The Centre renews its Remarkable Employer certification

The Centre has just had its Remarkable Employer certification renewed by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ). This certification is awarded to businesses that implement best practices in human resources management. The Centre received its initial certification in 2013.

2016 Meritas – Leadership Award

The Côte-des-Neiges Job Search Centre won the Meritas Leadership Award in the Meritas Excellence Competition 2016 organized by the Regroupement québécois des organismes pour le développement de l’employabilité (RQuODE). The Meritas Excellence Competition highlights the expertise of the RQuODE members and recognizes their contribution to the development of the intervention in employability in Quebec. The Meritas Leadership Award is granted to an organization that has demonstrated outstanding leadership over the past two years. This leadership can result in the development of a project or initiative in relation to the management of human resources, advocacy and the development of social policy, funding and resource development, networking and partnership.

The Centre joins the RQuODE

The Côte-des-Neiges Job Search Centre is pleased to join the Regroupement québécois des organismes pour le développement de l’employabilité (RQuODE).   The RQuODE gathers and supports community organizations specialized in employability development in order to foster integration at work of people experiencing difficulties on the employment plan.   By joining this organization, the Centre will benefit from resources and additional services useful for the realization of its mission.

20 years serving job seekers

The Côte-des-Neiges Job Search Centre is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Since opening in 1994, the Centre has helped more than 20,000 job seekers organize their approach to finding work. According to Centre Director Diane Brunelle, “Our statistics show that 68% of job seekers bear the financial burden of job searching on their own. In addition, they are often left to their own devices and unfortunately feel discouraged after a few unsuccessful attempts. Our mission is to provide support and help them structure their approach to job searching. This greatly improves the effectiveness of the efforts and skills they deploy to find a suitable job.” The results are encouraging. Over the last 20 years, the average job placement rate for participants in the Centre’s Job Finding Club has been 75%. Côte-des-Neiges Job Search Centre renews its Remarkable Employer Certification

The Côte-des-Neiges Job Search Centre is pleased to announce that its Remarkable Employer certification has just been renewed by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ). This certification is awarded to organizations which adopt best human resources management practices. The Centre received its initial certification in 2013. In order to obtain the renewal, it had to conduct again a confidential employee survey and receive a score of more than 75% in the study of 69 human resources practices in 14 areas (communications, working conditions, atmosphere, quality of life in the workplace, etc.). “The renewal of this certification demonstrates that we offer our employees a motivating and stimulating work environment, and that our human resources management is based on respect, fairness and trust,” stated Centre Director Roxane Stonely. “This recognition reflects the team spirit and collaboration demonstrated by all our employees in realizing our mission. The Centre awarded Investissement COMPÉTENCES Certification

The Côte-des-Neiges Job Search Centre is pleased to announce that it has just been awarded the Investissement COMPÉTENCES certification issued jointly by Emploi-Québec and the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail. This certification is granted to businesses that invest in employee training and skills development in order to increase their competitiveness, inspire new ideas, and foster innovation, thereby allowing employees to improve and progress within their fields. “Personal skills, experience and know-how are the core of our success,” states Centre Director Diane Brunelle. “This certification demonstrates our commitment to integrate employee training into our business values and practices. We believe it is important to create an environment in which our employees can develop their skills and progress, as this in turn enables us to provide even better counselling support to our job-seeking clientele.” Note that in 2013 the Centre was granted Remarkable Employer certification by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec.
