Support measures for international recruitment and accessibility to employment assistance services. Employment-Québec has recently reviewed certain measures regarding immigrants and their eligibility to the job market and employment assistance services. Here are the main changes: Support measures for international recruitment of temporary foreign workers The government confirms the implementation of three measures aimed at businesses that undertake international recruitment in order to support them financially. The measures clarify the definitions of categories of workers eligible for measures and necessary work permits to benefit from. Temporary foreign worker The expression «temporary foreign worker» or TFW refers to a person who owns a work permit and who can practice paid work, if provided with proper documents, to enter Canada and stay for a limited period of time. The Centre renews its Remarkable Employer certification

The Centre has just had its Remarkable Employer certification renewed by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ). This certification is awarded to businesses that implement best practices in human resources management. The Centre received its initial certification in 2013.

2016 Meritas – Leadership Award

The Côte-des-Neiges Job Search Centre won the Meritas Leadership Award in the Meritas Excellence Competition 2016 organized by the Regroupement québécois des organismes pour le développement de l’employabilité (RQuODE). The Meritas Excellence Competition highlights the expertise of the RQuODE members and recognizes their contribution to the development of the intervention in employability in Quebec. The Meritas Leadership Award is granted to an organization that has demonstrated outstanding leadership over the past two years. This leadership can result in the development of a project or initiative in relation to the management of human resources, advocacy and the development of social policy, funding and resource development, networking and partnership.
